EndNote is a bibliographical management application. In order to search our catalogue with EndNote, you will need a connection file. Right-click here and either "Save link as..." or "Save target" to the 'Connections' folder within EndNote on your computer.

Anyone needing to use the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) style for citations can download the file from the EndNote site here:

  • Save the file onto your computer
  • Find where you saved the file
  • Double-click the file (this should open EndNote)
  • Click on 'File', 'Save as...', choose a name for the file (for example, "SBL")
  • Go to your EndNote library
  • Click on 'Edit', 'Output styles', 'Open Style Manager...', find the name of the style file you've just saved (for example, "SBL") from the list and make sure it is ticked
  • Next time you click on 'Edit', 'Output styles' you should be able to see SBL (or the name you used for the style) in the list of styles

There are many on-line tutorials explaining how to use EndNote. For example, the University of Newcastle Library has posted a comprehensive tutorial at http://www.newcastle.edu.au/Resources/Divisions/Academic/Library/information-skills/endnote/index.html
