Periodical indexes Periodical indexes are necessary resources in a search for periodical articles by author title or subject.
Electronic indexes A number of the most important periodical indexes are accessible in electronic form via the library's Periodical indexes page. You should start here in any search for periodical articles by author, title or subject. You will almost always need to use the first of the indexes on this page, the ATLA Religion Database.
Periodical databases The library subscribes to a database of periodical literature in full text: ProQuest Religion . Other databases of periodical literature in full text are available to staff and students of the University of Divinity at the UD LibraryHub
When articles in these databases are found in some of the online indexes you will be presented with links to the articles concerned. Proquest also has its own search interface.
Printed indexes Readers should be aware of the fact that there are a number of important guides to periodical literature that are only available in print. The library holds many of these sources. For guidance, see, for example: Michael J. Walsh, Religious bibliographies in serial literature: a guide.
Searching for article copies Without a link to an electronic copy of the article you wish to consult, see Searching for Periodical Holdings.
